The promoter is SPAR Western Cape (“the Promoter”).
The promotional competition is open to all residents in the Western and Northern Cape over the age of 18 years who are in possession of a valid SPAR Rewards card. Residents in George, Wilderness, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay are excluded from entering the competition.
Each till slip may only be used once. The Promoter reserves the right to request the original till slip for verification.
The promotional competition is not open to any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter, the marketing service providers or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members.

Protection of Personal Information (POPIA)

All personal information collected from Participants will be processed by the Promoter in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and solely for the purposes of administering the competition, verifying eligibility, selecting and contacting winners, and delivering prizes.

Personal information will be processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently, will be limited to what is necessary to achieve the stated purposes, and will not be retained for longer than is required to fulfil those purposes or as required by applicable law. Reasonable technical and organisational measures will be implemented to safeguard personal information against loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse.

Where the competition is facilitated through third-party platforms, including but not limited to the SPAR Rewards programme, Participants acknowledge that such platforms operate independently of the Promoter and are subject to their own data protection policies and systems. The Promoter shall not be responsible or liable for any delays, inaccuracies, system failures, data breaches, or processing errors arising from or within such third-party systems.

By participating in the competition, Participants consent to the processing of their personal information as set out in these Terms and Conditions and acknowledge that failure to provide required information may result in disqualification from the competition.

This promotional competition is open from 22 July 2026, 00:01am and ends at 23:59pm (midnight) on 10 August 2026. Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.

Entry Requirements

To enter, participants will be required to:

Purchase any 3 or more participating products from any SPAR store in the Western or Northern Cape.
Swipe their SPAR Rewards card at the till.
Scan the QR code on the SPAR leaflet or on point of sale material in-store. Participants will be required to upload their till slip which must be kept for verification, should it be required.

Rules of Entry

Participants may enter multiple times, but may only win one prize for the duration of the competition.

There are 8 (eight) prizes:

Sony PlayStation 5: 2 winners
Official Soccer jerseys: 5 winners
Garmin Vívoactive 6: 1 winner

Prizes will be distributed within 30 (thirty) days after the winners have been drawn.

Redemption of Prize

Winners will be drawn and notified accordingly.
Any prize not claimed within 3 (three) years of notification will be forfeited.
Prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash. The Promoter is not responsible for any lost or stolen prizes once issued to the winner.

Selecting Winners

8 (eight) participants will be selected as winners (the ‘Winners’).
Winners will be selected at random by a third party agent after the competition closes.

Delivery of Prize

The winners will be notified via phone call.
The Promoter will not be held accountable for call failures caused by network issues, incorrect cell phone numbers on the SPAR Rewards system, or handset-related restrictions.
Participants are responsible for ensuring their SPAR Rewards profile information, including their cell phone number, is correct at the time of entry.

General

The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever.
The Promoter shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data, including but not limited to altering till slips, submitting duplicate till slips, or supplying false personal information.
No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
Any attempt to manipulate the entry process, including but not limited to the use of multiple SPAR Rewards profiles by the same individual, duplicate or fraudulent accounts, or any other tactics designed to circumvent the entry rules, may result in disqualification and all associated entries being void.
The Promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice, if deemed necessary in its opinion and if circumstances arise outside of their control. In the event of such change or termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter or its agents.
In the event that the Prize is not available despite the Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to procure the Prize, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize of equal value.
Neither the Promoter, its agents, its associated companies, nor any directors, officers or employees of such, shall be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the participant or the Winner.
The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Participation in the promotional competition constitutes acceptance of the promotional competition rules and participants agree to abide by the rules.
The Promoter reserves the right to delete any information uploaded by a participant which the Promoter, in its absolute discretion, believes is illegal, obscene, offensive or defamatory, or infringes the intellectual property rights of a third party, or is otherwise inappropriate for a campaign designed for mass audience entertainment.
